Background & Experience
I have extensive experience of working with mental illness, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, domestic and sexual abuse/violence, trauma – PTSD/C-PTSD, chronic illness such as CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia, and spiritual crisis.
My previous work includes working as a NHS staff nurse in A&E (15 years), a counsellor for a bereavement charity (8 years) and domestic and sexual violence charity (2 years). These experiences have provided me with a firm grounding for working with clients with multiple and complex needs.
I have worked therapeutically with groups and one-to-one, in both formal and informal settings. I currently work with adults.
Alongside my private practice, I have previously worked as a professional trainer for the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Wellbeing and Recovery College (March 2019-Oct 2020). This included training on Anxiety, depression, creative writing, nature for wellbeing courses, support calls and enrolments. (*Disclaimer – Any views expressed on this website are entirely my own).
